The all new Aura was launched by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in New Delhi today at a starting price of INR 5.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). An upgraded and revised version of the Xcent, the Aura aims to renew rivalry with established rivals Maruti Suzuki DZire and Honda Amaze in the Compact Sedan segment through cutting edge design and technology. Hyundai terms the design of its 2020 sedan as “Sporty and Sensual”.

Classical butch styling is what one gets with the Mahindra Alturas G4, a vehicle which marks the entry of M&M into the premium 7-seater SUV segment. Also, the Alturas is being sold with the Mahindra logo instead of the erstwhile SsangYong badge in front. What remains to be seen is how it holds up in a segment that has competitors of the pedigree of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.

The new Maruti Suzuki SPresso, expected to offer tough competition to the Renault Kwid, has been launched today. Maruti Corp terms this small vehicle as a Genki car, which means energetic, fun and peppy. With this launch, India’s largest auto manufacturer expects to turn around the tide in what otherwise seems to be a gloomy market for the auto sector.

The Japanese auto manufacturer is already selling fuel cell-based vehicles in different countries.

Looking at the new Kia Seltos, many of you might have wondered what the word Seltos actually means.  Well, it is derived from Greek mythology and is inspired from the legend of ‘Celtos’, the son of Hercules. The S in Seltos denotes sportiness, strength and speed. True to its name, the Kia Seltos certainly looks sporty without being too aggressive.

One is not really sure what Hyundai thought while naming the new Grand i10 as Grand i10 NIOS. Acknowledgement of something or a greeting is probably what the name comes closest to.
