The all new Aura was launched by Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) in New Delhi today at a starting price of INR 5.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). An upgraded and revised version of the Xcent, the Aura aims to renew rivalry with established rivals Maruti Suzuki DZire and Honda Amaze in the Compact Sedan segment through cutting edge design and technology. Hyundai terms the design of its 2020 sedan as “Sporty and Sensual”.
A look at the front of the Aura shows how the front grille has been kept separate from the air dam, unlike a complete front grille in the Xcent. DRLs have been added to the front grille for some extra style. The teardrop-shaped headlamps are fairly similar to those in the Hyundai Xcent. Integrated L-shaped tail lamps make the Hyundai Aura appear like a very modern car indeed.
In comparison to the Maruti Suzuki DZire and the Amaze, the C-pillar in Hyundai Aura appears to be ending suddenly. Overall, if one looks at the car in 360 degree view, the 402 litre boot does not appear to be flowing as naturally as the DZire and the Amaze, but instead resembles Tata Tigor more.

For the first time, a performance-based engine has been introduced in the compact sedan category here. In the 1.0 litre Turbo GDI BS6 engine, Hyundai R&D division has managed to integrate the exhaust manifold to cylinder heads, thereby increasing fuel efficiency at higher RPMs. Not only will this vehicle display exhilarating performance with 100 PS of power, but it will also have sporty interior design to complement the same.
The 1.2 litre ECOTORQ diesel engine can deliver best performance under a variety of climatic conditions since its transmission comes with better clutch friction materials for high gear strength. In terms of transmission, a Smart Auto AMT is available, which makes use of Advanced In-house Hyundai Technology Electric Actuator for smooth gear shifts.
