Renault Motors India, the company that offers cars like the Kwid, LODGY, Scala, Pulse and the Duster might soon increase their prices.The company plans to mull the prices of the cars considering the rising input costs.
"Yes, we will be increasing the prices as input costs have gone up. We are currently evaluating the period as when to undertake the exercise," Sumit Sawhney, Renault India operations country CEO and managing director, told PTI when asked about the company’s plan to increase prices.
It is a relief to know that the price rise is under the range of 1%-2%. The company management do not want to upset its customers by burning a hole in their pockets.
Renault currently has about 5 different products for the Indian, out of which the hatchback Kwid and the SUV Duster is amounts its popular products.
Renault has recently shown a brow raising result the past month with the hatchback Kwid, doing wonders in the Indian auto market. Kwid has also helped the company to score a 600% year on year growth last month.
Following the Renault price hike, other auto companies in the Indian market are planing to increase the prices as well.
The home grown company Mahindra n Mahindra has also increased the prices of its cars by 1% this month. The top car selling companies in India - Maruti Suzuki & Hyundai has also added another Rs.20,000 across all its products.
