The home company, Mahindra has introduced a new variant in the next generation scorpio that will be environment friendly. Mandira & Mahindra LTD has introduced people with a new technology called the ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ that runs on a mild hybrid engine. This ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ will be introduced in the new generation Scorpio with a 1.99L mHawk engine especially created to curb the diesel ban in Delhi and Kerala.
This new Scorpio will be available for sale immediately with a starting price of 9.35 lacs for the S4 model.Being middle hybrid, the car will be sold with a mild concession on the Value Added Tax of 5% that would save about Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 90,000 for the customer, depending on the variant purchased.
Speaking about the introduction of Scorpio with Intelli-Hybrid in Delhi and NCR, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive, (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Intelli-Hybrid demonstrates our commitment to making modern technology more accessible to a wider audience. Intelli-Hybrid reduces fuel consumption by up to 7%. This, by assisting the engine with electric power during acceleration, automatically switching the engine off within 3 seconds of the vehicle being stationary (start-stop) and reusing brake energy, which would otherwise be wasted, to charge the battery.
The mild hybrid system has been made available on the following variants of Scorpio with the 1.99 litre mHAWK engine: S4, S4+, S4+ 4wd, S6+, S8, S10-2WD (Manual Transmission) and S10-4WD (Manual Transmission).
